The Maadhyam Women Support Centers are functioning from the premises of Office of the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Bhubaneswar and Mahila Police Station, Cuttack to render assistance to women who are subjected to violence in various forms and approach the police for redressal of their grievances. Violence against women includes broken relationships, sexual harassment, rape, molestation, eve teasing, stalking, intimate partner violence, false promises of marriage, kidnapping and abduction, trafficking, cyber crime, Voyeurism and domestic violence etc. While the concerned police station shall render appropriate services to such women as per law, the centers shall provide counseling and other alternative support services in terms of legal aid, medical support, shelter and livelihood opportunities.
The Maadhyam Centre is being established to accomplish the following objectives
- To provide counseling support to women victims of physical and emotional violence, false promises of marriage, kidnapping and abduction, trafficking, cyber crime, voyeurism and domestic violence.
- To extend legal, medical, and rehabilitation support to the women victims and provide shelter as and when required by the victims by ISD.
- Organizing Police Public face to face meetings for further awareness at community.
