Governance & Leadership

The organizational structure of the Institute for Social Development (ISD) is designed to ensure effective governance and transparency in adherence to its Memorandum of Association and Rules and Regulations of the Society..

General Body:

The General Body is the supreme decision-making authority of ISD, responsible for formulating policies and guiding the overall direction of the organization. At present, it consists of 16 members, representing diverse sections of society. The General Body meets annually to review progress and outline the strategic initiatives to be undertaken for the coming year.

Governing Body:

The Governing Body, comprising 9 elected members, is responsible for the management and execution of the organization’s policies and programs. It is headed by the Director, who also serves as the Chief Functionary of ISD. Notably, more than half of the Governing Body members are women, reflecting the organization’s commitment to promoting women’s leadership and participation in governance.

Mrs. Nibedita Pattanayak
Chair-person

She is having a Master Degree in Economics with Honours, has over ten years of experience in conducting various social development research projects and documentation work with reference to data analysis, report preparation, production of documentaries and writing of case studies. She is associated with news media and focus on development news on women, children and vulnerable groups. She was awarded 3 times by UNFPA LADLEE Media Award for Gender Sensitivity.

Mr. Pradeep Mohanty
Vice-Chairperson

He is M.A.LLB with more than 15 years of experience in social Sector. Working mostly on the issues relating to women, education, livelihood, health and sanitation, environment. He is the coordinator and founder member of Sarvodaya Samiti, Koraput.

Mrs. Subhashree Das
Director

She has been working in the field of women issues since last 23 years. A post graduate in social work having a lot of experience working with Gender issues. Right now she is the Director of Institute for Social Development. She is the convenor of one state level forum on shelter homes. She is also representing to various state and national level Networks.

Ms. Binapani Mallick
Joint- Director

She has been felicitated by Governor of Odisha for the best Social Worker. She has been working in the field of women issues since last 23 years . A post graduate in political science having a lot of experience working with Gender issues. Presently she is the programme coordinator of ISD.

Mrs. Minakshi Das
Treasurer

She has been working in the field of women issues since last 15 years. With a Bachelor of Arts degree, she is doing lot of social services. She is working mostly on the issues relating to women rights.

Mrs. Malaya Manjari Mishra
Executive body member

An Social Activist, associated with various National and International Networks. A freelance trainer on Women Rights and Gender. Having more than 20 years working experience in Social Sector. She has a good working knowledge on Micro Finance and Women SHGs.

Mr. Prasan Kumar Patnaik
Executive body member

He is an Retd. Govt. Personnel. After retirement Mr. Patnaik engaged with society development work. He is actively participating in resident society welfare activities.

Mrs. Usharani Behera
Executive body member

She is having BA LLB . She has vast experience in marital counseling and legal counseling. She has been more than 20 years of experience in social Sector. She also leads activities of Bharat Gyan Vigyan Samiti in Odisha state. She is master trainer on Adolescent Health issues.

Mrs. Soumya Surachita Sahoo
Executive body member

She is MA LLB. Having more than 08 years of experience in counseling to survivors of Women. Presently she is working as Center Administrator in One Stop Center- SAKHI Cuttack . She is regular staff of ISD
