ISD had the opportunity to implement a project titled \u201cPreventing and Addressing Trafficking in Women and Girls in Odisha\u201d<\/strong> with the generous support of the Global Fund for Women, USA<\/strong>. The project was implemented over a three-year period<\/strong>, beginning on 1st January 2014<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The intervention was primarily undertaken in the tribal regions of Daringibadi and Raikia Blocks<\/strong> in Kandhamal district, Odisha<\/strong>, with an extended focus on strengthening institutional mechanisms across the entire district<\/strong> to address issues related to human trafficking.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The project strategically targeted the source areas of trafficking<\/strong>, where women and girls are often vulnerable to migration and exploitation. Through this initiative, ISD worked to prevent trafficking in all its forms and for various purposes<\/strong>\u2014including trafficking under the pretext of marriage, employment, or other forms of forced occupation.<\/p>\n
